For the first time, Citrix will offer an end-to-end DaaS solution for businesses

Today at Microsoft Ignite, an annual conference for IT professionals, Citrix made an exciting announcement. As part of their digital workspace strategy, Citrix will now be offering desktops-as-a-service. This DaaS offering is developed on Windows Virtual Desktops and hosted in Microsoft Azure, allowing users to “delivery virtual applications and desktops hosted in the cloud to any device, from anywhere, with simplified IT management”.

Citrix and Microsoft partner to help companies embrace a digital transformation

Citrix is positioning their new DaaS offering as a complete solution to help organizations simplify their IT management, quickly and cost effectively deliver desktops to users, and maximize productivity. This offering is unlike anything they have offered in the past, however, and will include:

  • Citrix prepared Windows Virtual Desktop with Windows 10 hosted on Azure
  • Secure remote access from any device via multi-factor authentication
  • A high-definition user experience that make it easy to work from any device, anywhere
  • Intelligent management and monitoring for simplified on-going maintenance
  • Plus, the associated Azure compute and storage for the virtual desktops

Modern Yet Simple

Also announced are Citrix’s plans to become a direct Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP), able to sell Microsoft 365 licenses directly to their customers to streamline the process. Get high-definition user experiences with access to voice and video applications, with various types of accessories and peripherals. Citrix Service Providers can also step in to help businesses with more custom needs for a comprehensive desktop delivery package.
