Simplify Suite v5 is now officially available. The main enhancements are additional operating system support (Windows 2008 Server, Vista, XP, 2000 Workstation) and concurrent licensing to simplify Virtual Server and Desktop Simplify Suite license management. For a full change history click here.
Please read these directions and precautions before installation Simplify Suite v5 into a production environment:
- This product is a new version with major changes, and is recommended to be tested before deploying to production.
- Certain versions of Simplify Suite have upgrade problems. To avoid these issues, uninstall Simplify Suite v4 before installing Simplify Suite v5.
- Backup the Simplify database before running the Simplify Suite v5 installer, as it will upgrade the database. triCerat ALWAYS recommends a database upgrade before ALL Simplify Suite upgrades. Use these directions to backup the Simplify database.
- For customers currently utilizing Simplify Suite v4, it is recommended to backup the Simplify database and restore it in a test environment. The database in the test environment can be restored into production before migrating the farm to Simplify Suite v5. This ensures that all settings and configurations made in the test environment are replicated into the production environment. Use these directions to migrate the Simplify database.
