Your organization can experience a variety of scanning issues that not only could affect your ability to share, access, and back up data across your network, but also may result in decreased productivity from your IT department and users.
Common Scanning Problems The following are some common issues that may arise related to scanning:
Incompatible scanner drivers
Unsupported drivers and applications
Constant, costly software upgrades
Time consuming workarounds
You may not realize that scanning can be efficient and consistent with minimal upstart costs, implementation, and management time spent. A solution now exists that is easy to use, powerful, and answers the keen scanning issues that plague your organization.
How it Works Scanect™ software uses a universal "virtual" driver on the Citrix server or ICA/RDP connection that queries local scanners for their capabilities (i.e. Automatic Document Feeder availability, resolution, supported paper sizes, and other features) and forwards them to be virtualized on the remote server or virtual desktop. This increases application compatibility by creating a single point of compatibility with the triCerat virtual scanner driver. (See diagram 1 and 2.)

Does Scanect™ Apply to your Business? From finance and healthcare to freight and government, scanning is a small yet crucial piece to a successful business operation.
There is a myriad of reasons your organization may be increasingly incorporating scanning as business requirements evolve:
Healthcare organizations digitizing their medical records and claims data
Financial institutions increasing security measures by eliminating physical document access
Logistics companies storing electronic copies of paper orders and invoices
Law firms organizing client files and easily sharing and accessing documents
Regardless of industry, scanning plays an important role in your business's operational efficiency and bottom line. However, scanner management is often overlooked as something of peripheral importance until a big problem arises, at which point your IT department is left to put out fires, end users panic as deadlines pass and security risks increase, and all the while precious time and money slip down the drain.
