The Green Blog (Can Server-Based Computing really save the World?)
Easily convert old desktop computers into kiosks, or single-use PCs
TKE configures desktop operating systems to behave like a thin client, providing the perfect thin client printing and management solution with minimal maintenance and management for administrators.
I have been hearing a lot about how server-based computing (SBC) and green computing go hand-in-hand. It makes sense. On one end, I have a server that hosts multiple desktops and/or applications, on the other, thin-clients, that by nature consume less power than fat-clients...veolia! -I’m green, or at least greener.
This may be true to some extent, but what exactly does “Green Computing\IT” mean? How is it measured? What other considerations should be taken into account when planning a green IT infrastructure?
