So you run TriShell to secure your environment…

Yet, you want/need to give the users to certain control panel elements. The triCerat product does not have a built-in menu or system for publishing these items to the user. Don’t worry, your goal is simple to accomplish through the use of shell hooks.

First, you will want to decide what object needs to be published to the user. You can get a list of available objects and their associated arguments from a number of websites like this one.

Now, you will want to create a new application object within the Simplify Suite.

We are actually going to be publishing rundll32 with the set of arguments you identified in step one. The above shows how to configure the application object. You will also want to ensure to enable the “Use Arguments” option on the signatures tab. This will ensure that users can not call rundll32 in any unintended context.

Finally, assign the object to an owner.

As you can see here, I have chosen to add a container called “Control Panel” to the users Start Menu. This container can be filled with any number of objects. The following is the end result, as it appears to the user.
